How to knit the Diamond Stitch

This is another big favourite of BettaKnit’s Team: the Diamond Stitch!

You can find many different variations of this stitch, but basically you create the shape of a diamond in a way that it stands out on an even background.

In this version, you get the diamond design using the Cable Stitch technique. The knit ribs that shape the diamonds are highlighted by the purl stitches in the background, and curve across the pattern as you work.

We recreated it with our Prato Cotton yarn (super eco-yarn! 🌱 Find out more about it here) in the color Apple Green, using our 5 mm (US 8) Beechwood knitting needles.
