Stitches and techniques used in the Dandelion Stitch
Per lavorare questo punto occorre conoscere le seguenti tecniche:
- Maglia diritta

- Diminuzione a rovescio (2 maglie insieme a rovescio)
To knit this stitch, you need to master the following techniques:
- Knit Stitch

- Purl decrease (purl 2 stitches together)
The background of this stitch is therefore Stocking Stitch (look at our Video Tutorial page for reference), while the “flowers” are created by extracting loops from a single central stitch.
Let’s see together how to knit the flower:
- First thing, identify the space where you want to knit your flower, by counting 3 rows below and the 2nd stitch of the left-hand needle. This is center of your flower: the stitch that all three loops will come out of!
- Insert your right-hand needle into the stitch you identified as the center, wrap working yarn around your needle, and pull through the stitch and up to create a long loop. This is your first petal.
- Knit 2 stitches and insert again your right-hand needle into the central stitch. Wrap working yarn around your needle and pull through the stitch and up to create a long loop. This is your second petal.
- Knit 2 more stitches and repeat the previous step to create the third petal.
