Fancy Lace Knitting Stitch: Diamond Lace Stitch

In this new geometrical stitch (yes, we’re kinda becoming obsessed with them 😅), stocking stitch and garter stitch alternate to shape diamonds, spaced out by eyelets in diagonal rows: you can’t miss the Diamond Lace Stitch, so keep reading for the tutorial!

The Diamond Lace Stitch is a geometrical knitting stitch: stocking stitch and garter stitch alternate across rows to shape diamonds, which are spaced out by eyelets in diagonal rows. This knitting stitch is great to work will all kinds of yarns.

The yarn you see in the swatch above is BettaKnit’s Love My Jeans in Emerald in two plies. To get this tension, we used 4 mm (US 6) Beechwood Knitting Needles (you can choose the right needle size adjusting to your yarn and tension).

Diamond Lace Stitch Chart

The Diamond Lace Stitch knitting chart is an intermediate-level knitting chart. Even if you only know the basic stitches you can try to read this chart: you will only need to know how to follow the chart direction and how to recognize the stitch symbols (knit and purl stitches, yarn over stitches and decrease stitches).
