Fancy Knitting Stitch: Seersucker Stitch

A knitting evergreen that even confident beginners can try: the Seersucker Stitch! Here in a chunkier version: isn’t it just the best?

The Seersucker Stitch is a 3D knitting stitch: on your knitted piece, you will see diamonds taking shape, one next to the other on diagonal lines. This effect is simply made by alternating knit and purl stitches in such a way that it creates a geometrical design.

The swatch you see in the picture has been made using size 8 mm / US 11 Beechwood Knitting Needles (you can choose the right needle size adjusting to your yarn and tension) and Biologica wool yarn in one of the brand new colors available: Tiffany! ✨

All you will need to know is how to knit and purl, so if you’re just starting out, give it a try! You will love it.

Seersucker Stitch Chart

The Seersucker Knitting Stitch Chart is an easy chart that even beginners can try to read. It is only about alternating knit and purl stitches on a 4-stitch and 8-row repetition. On the chart, knit and purl symbols mean the opposite thing when working on the wrong side of the work.
