Fancy Knitting Stitch: Eyelet Rib Stitch Tutorial

At this pace, we are basically going to put together an entire collection of Rib Stitches: we just can’t get enough! This time, it’s the Eyelet Rib Stitch turn. It’s halfway between a cable and a ribbing stitch, with little eyelets all over the ribs and crossing stitches that give the illusion of a cable stitch.

The Eyelet Rib Stitch is a knitting stitch that is perfect to make sweaters and accessories such as scarves and cowls. It's a fun version of the classic rib stitch that creates little eyelets all over the ribs, similar to little knots. You can use this stitch with any kind of cotton or wool yarn.

The swatch you see in the picture has been made using size 4 mm / US 6 Beechwood Knitting Needles (you can choose the right needle size adjusting to your yarn and tension) and BettaKnit’s Love My Jeans (95% recycled denim for an eco-friendly yarn 🌎), holding 2 plies together in the shades Cherry and Marsala.

This is an intermediate level stitch, so if you are just starting your knitting journey, we recommend checking out our YouTube channel where you can practise the knitting basics with many videotutorials 😉
