Crochet Stitch Pattern: Cross Over Stitch Tutorial
The Cross Over Stitch: a new fancy lace crochet stitch to add to your stitch collection! With its diagonal lines, it creates spirals that somehow remind us of the classic cable pattern on wool sweaters. The lace design, however, makes it just perfect for spring and summer cotton garments too.
We tested this stitch with Raffia, a 100% cellulose yarn that is very popular to create any sort of crochet accessories. The result is definitely unique!
The yarn you see in the swatch is Raffia, 100% paper cellulose yarn, in the shade Lilac. We used a 5 mm (US H6) Beechwood Crochet Hook, but you can choose the right hook size adjusting to your yarn and tension.
To make this fancy stitch, you will need to know how to work in Single Crochet (UK Double Crochet), Double Crochet (UK Treble Crochet) and Half Double Crochet (UK Half Treble Crochet). Let’s get to work! 💪
