Crochet Stitch Pattern: Bicolor Block Stitch

Such little effort (seriously!) for instant *wow*. The Bicolor Crochet Block Stitch only requires few ingredients: just a couple of crochet basic techniques, and 2 yarns in two different colors (or textures!). So easy to memorize that you won’t even notice your hands moving on their own!

This crochet stitch is easy to learn and it’s perfect for all the new crochet adventurers: as you work with two different yarns, the main color will be used to create parallel rows of double crochet blocks. At the same time, you will make single crochet stitches using the second color, which will peak through as little dots in between every block. The final result is a very neat and geometrical design.

Notes on this stitch:

Turning chains count as 1st stitch of the row, so always skip the very first stitch of each row and work into the next one.

As you work alternating the two yarns (Color A and Color B), we suggest you cut the yarn at the end of each row, leaving a 7-8 cm-long tail that you will weave in at the end. You can also use the Tapestry Crochet technique, carrying the yarn you are not working with all across the current row to the end, hiding it inside the stitches you are making. Remember though that this technique results in a thicker fabric and higher yarn consumption.
